Product Selection & Technical Specs
Choosing the correct IADC code depends on rock hardness, abrasiveness, and your drilling equipment. IADC codes starting with 1 to 3 represent steel tooth bits for soft to medium formations, while 4 to 8 represent Tungsten Carbide Insert (TCI) bits for medium to ultra-hard, abrasive formations. Our technical team provides free formation analysis to match your well logs with the exact IADC configuration.
Steel tooth bits utilize milled steel teeth on the cone body, making them cost-effective for soft formations like clay and unconsolidated sands. TCI (Tungsten Carbide Insert) bits feature pressed carbide compacts that resist extreme abrasion and compressive strength, making them ideal for hard sandstone, limestone, granite, and deep well drilling.
Larger cutters (19mm) offer higher ROP in soft to medium formations but are more susceptible to impact damage. Medium cutters (16mm) provide a balanced performance for general drilling. Smaller cutters (13mm) are engineered for hard, interbedded, or highly abrasive rock formations, providing higher impact resistance and smoother drilling action.
Lilin's LS (Speed) series bits are specifically engineered for high-RPM motor drilling and directional applications. Featuring optimized hydraulic design, enhanced bearing seals, and dynamic cutter alignment, LS bits withstand higher rotary speeds and downhole mud motor torque without premature thermal bearing failure.
Yes. Backed by our Municipal-Level Corporate Technical Center and over 200 R&D specialists, we customize bit profile, cutter density, hardfacing, and nozzle layouts according to your provided well logs, formation lithology, and hydraulic horsepower.
Quality Control & Downhole Reliability
We utilize precision carburizing heat treatment for max surface hardness, proprietary synthetic rubber O-ring/metal seals, and high-temperature grease. Additionally, 100% of bearing journals and retention systems undergo non-destructive ultrasonic testing (NDT) to prevent structural breakdown.
Every rock bit must pass raw material spectral analysis, CMM coordinate dimensional inspection, 100% high-pressure seal integrity pressure testing, and thread torque tolerance verification before approval for export.
Yes. Lilin holds official API Spec 7-1 and API Spec Q1 certifications, alongside ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) management system accreditations.
Every forging leg, cone, and PDC cutter is stamped with a unique heat-lot number. This serial tracking connects raw alloy steel certificates, heat treatment logs, and final inspection reports for 100% lifetime traceability.
Operating Guidelines & ROP Optimization
Recommended WOB and RPM depend on bit size and IADC code. Generally, for TCI bits, WOB ranges between 2,000 to 5,000 lbs per inch of bit diameter, with RPM ranging from 40 to 120. Precise operating tables are included with every shipment.
Bit balling can be mitigated by utilizing PDC/tricone bits with optimized hydraulic jet nozzles, polished cutter surfaces, and higher mud flow rates. Our engineering team can supply custom nozzle configurations to maximize bottom-hole cleaning energy.
When running a new bit to bottom, initiate rotation with 1/2 normal WOB and 1/2 normal RPM for the first 15–30 minutes until a uniform bottom-hole pattern is established. Gradually increase parameters to standard drilling limits.
Ordering, Packaging & Logistics
Our MOQ is 1 piece for standard API sizes. Standard inventory items ship within 3–7 days. Custom-engineered bits or bulk orders typically have a production lead time of 15–30 days.
All bits are treated with anti-rust oil, fitted with heavy-duty plastic thread protectors, and secured inside export-grade, fumigation-free wooden cases reinforced with internal shock-absorbing blocking.
Yes. We provide remote or on-field Dull Bit Grading according to IADC standards. By analyzing worn cutters and bearing conditions from your used bits, our engineers optimize parameters and bit selection for your next drilling section.
